Description
Nos 33-35 Sterne Street are a semi-detached pair of cottages built between 1922 and 1923, designed by George Walton. The cottages are constructed of brick, with the upper storey rendered, and feature a low pitched hipped slate roof with deep eaves. Each cottage is two storeys high and five windows wide, with irregular widths. The outer three windows are grouped as a triplet, flanked by narrow lights beside a wider central window. The windows are square-headed, with metal frames, glazing bars, and small panes. The entrances are also square-headed, with rectangular fanlights, located next to the inside bay of each house, and have timber doors. This building is noted as a rare late work by Walton.
