Description

A row of cottages built between 1922 and 1923, designed by George Walton. The cottages are of brick, with the upper floors rendered. They have low-pitched, hipped slate roofs with prominent eaves. The row comprises 5 windows wide for each cottage, with the exception of number 53, and varies in width; number 5 is 4 windows wide. The windows have square heads, metal frames, and glazing bars, with small panes. Doorways have square heads, rectangular fanlights, and timber doors, placed alternately to the right and left of the cottages. Cottages 43 to 49 were damaged in the war, but have been fully restored to the original design. This represents a rare late work by George Walton.
