Description
This is an early 19th century house of three storeys and an attic, originally with two windows. It is built of stock brick, although the upper parts have been rebuilt using a lighter yellow brick which doesn't match. The front features a parapet and a tiled mansard roof with dormers. The upper floors have sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has round-headed casements with transoms, set within round arched recesses. A stuccoed extension to the left includes a cornice and blocking course, and contains a modern door within a round arched, moulded architrave. The building is included on the listing for its group value, specifically in conjunction with railings between numbers 7 and 19 (inclusive), and number 13A, as they relate to number 17 Lower Clapton Road.
