Description

LOWER CLAPTON ROAD E5 1. 5013 (North-west Side) --------------------- No 17 TQ 3585 20/345 II GV

  1. Early C19 with alterations. 3 storeys, 3 windows, with obtuse angle to 1-window front on Lower Clapton Road. Raised slated mansard, with flat dormer, over 2 right bays. Stucco with incised lines, cornice band and parapet. Replaced sash windows with glazing bars. Modern shop on ground floor. At 1st floor left a plaque inscribed in good lettering CLAPTON SQUARE. Included partly for this plaque.

No 17 forms a group with the Railings around Clapton Square garden and with Nos 7 to 19 (consec) and 13A Clapton Square.
