Description

The railings around Clapton Square Garden date from the early 19th century. They consist of a low brick wall topped with stone coping, which supports cast iron railings featuring spearhead standards and urn finials at regular intervals. At each end, there are tall square stone-capped brick piers. Similar railings extend around the rest of Clapton Square, resting on a low stone plinth. The railings, along with properties numbered 7 to 19 consecutively and No 13A, form a group with No 17 Lower Clapton Road.
