Description
No. 11 Ironmonger Lane is a mid to late 18th century house that has undergone significant alterations. It stands four storeys tall, with an additional storey added. The building features three windows and is constructed of pinkish-yellow brick. The entrance has a painted doorcase with engaged Ionic columns and a pediment, which is integrated into the mid-19th century stuccoed ground storey that includes arcading. This design continues in front of a recessed north wing made of yellow brick. A low railing is present at the front. Beneath the 18th century house and its later additions at the rear, there is a later 3rd century Roman house with ragstone walls and a patterned mosaic pavement.
