Description
No. 24 Heath Drive is a detached house built in 1907 by CHB Quennell. The house is constructed of red brick and features a tall hipped tiled roof with a central gable on the front facade, along with return gabled roofs and tall brick chimney-stacks. The eaves overhang and have painted timber soffits. The design is symmetrical.
The house has two storeys and five windows. The central entrance bay is gabled and flanked by rusticated brick pilasters that end in enriched console brackets. These brackets support a short continuation of the eaves, creating the appearance of a broken pediment. The entrance features a porch with two columns that support an entablature with a projecting cornice. The recessed doorway has a panelled door, sidelights, and an overlight with diaper glazing. Above the entrance, there is a flush framed sash window with exposed boxing, a segmental-arched stuccoed head, and carved festoon enrichment. The outer bays each have two similar sashes at the ground floor, which include louvred shutters and lack enrichment on the segmental heads. On the first floor, each bay has two flush framed sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
