Description

A pair of semi-detached houses built in 1905 by CHB Quennell. The houses are constructed of red brick with rusticated brick quoins marking the angles of the first floor. They have hipped tiled roofs with gables to the front bays, tall brick chimney stacks, dormers, and overhanging eaves supported by painted timber brackets. The design is symmetrical.

The houses are two storeys and have attics. Each has three windows. The outer bays incorporate ground floor porches with round-arched entrances, impost bands, panelled doors with sidelights and overlights. A brick frieze with quatrefoil patterning runs across the facade above the ground floor. The first floor has flush framed sash windows. Narrow recessed bays to the right have vertically set, ladder-glazed windows. Gabled bays have canted bowed bays with five sashes extending through the ground and first floors; the eaves soffit continues above the first floor. The gables feature relieving arches, brick modillion eaves and transom and mullion windows. Central bays have tripartite sash windows to both the ground and first floors, with the ground floor windows featuring gauged brick flat arches and keystones. The interiors were not inspected.
