Description
A pair of semi-detached houses built in 1909 by CHB Quennell, constructed by WJ King. The houses are built of red brick with rusticated brick quoins, and have tiled double-gabled roofs with upswept outer eaves to the front facade and hipped roofs to the rear. They are symmetrically designed.
The houses are two storeys high with attics, and each has two windows. Entrance doorways are located in the outer bays, with No.25 having a built-up support and No.27 having shaped brackets to its hood. Both entrances have round-arched doorways and square-headed doors: No.25 has a part-glazed panelled door, and No.27 has a 20th-century panelled door, both with sidelights and overlights. Above the doors are 3-light flush framed segmental-arched transom and mullion windows with small leaded panes.
The central bays feature 5-light canted bowed bays of transom and mullion windows extending through both the ground and first floors; the first floor windows have tile-hung aprons. The gables have brick modillion eaves and small shallow round-arches in their apexes, each containing a 4-light segmental-arched casement window. The interiors were not inspected.
