Description

A pair of semi-detached houses located on Hollycroft Avenue, built in 1905 by CHB Quennell, with construction carried out by GW Hart. The houses are built of red brick, featuring brick patterning and quoins to the first floors. They have tiled, hipped and gabled roofs with overhanging eaves displaying painted wooden soffits, and tall, slab chimney stacks.

The design is symmetrical. The houses are three storeys high and each has two windows. Entrances are located in the outer bays, each featuring hoods supported by shaped brackets and a fanlight above the door. The ground floor has canted bay windows with glazing bars to the upper halves. The first floor features gauged brick flat arches over tripartite sash windows, and central bays with three-light sashes incorporating segmental relieving arches filled with herringbone brickwork. Gables have three-light sashes, with modillion brickwork eaves, diaper patterning between the modillion bands, and broken areas where the roof eaves meet. Slab stacks project upwards behind the roofline. The interiors were not inspected.
