Description

No. 20 Provost Road is a detached villa built around 1844, possibly designed by John Shaw. The exterior is finished in stucco, scored to resemble ashlar stone. It features a pitched roof covered in fishscale slates, with a central gabled dormer and gable ends that have slab chimney-stacks. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a semi-basement, and is double fronted with three windows. The entrance includes a pointed arch portico topped with a crenellated parapet. A part-glazed panelled door is accessed by steps with stuccoed balustrades that end in urns. The windows are recessed sashes with dripmoulds, and there is a casement window in the dormer. The interior has not been inspected.
