Description

Numbers 14-20 and attached railings comprise a group of four terraced houses dating from around 1793. They are built of multi-coloured stock brick, with a rusticated ground floor and a plain sill band to the first floor. A stucco cornice and blocking course run along the top of the facade. The houses are four storeys high, with basements, and each has two windows. The ground floor has segmental arched openings. Each doorway features pilaster jambs supporting cornice heads, with patterned fanlights above panelled doors. Gauged, reddened brick flat arches top the recessed sash windows. Numbers 18 and 20 have patterned glazing bars to their ground floor windows. Continuous cast-iron balconies are positioned at first-floor level. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached cast-iron railings, featuring tasselled spearhead finials, run along the front of the properties, defining the areas.
