Description
23 Well Street is a mid-19th century house located in Bury St Edmunds. It is constructed of red brick laid in Flemish bond and features a hipped roof with a modillion eaves soffit on the front range, as well as a mansard roof on the rear range, both covered with black-glazed pantiles. The house has three storeys and a cellar, with a three-window range consisting of sashes without glazing bars set in plain deep reveals, topped with stuccoed flat arches. The central doorway is recessed and has four panels, accessed by steps, with a rectangular fanlight above. This doorway is framed by a wooden doorcase that includes fluted pilasters and a cornice. Additionally, there is a 12-pane sash window in deep reveals with a gauged brick flat arch located on the upper storey of the south side of the rear wall. The interior has not been inspected.
