Description
21 and 22 Well Street are a pair of cottages built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from knapped flint with white brick dressings and feature a shallow-pitched roof covered with black-glazed pantiles. A raised brick band runs beneath the first-storey windows, and there is a prominent central square brick chimney stack.
The cottages are two storeys tall, with each cottage having one window on each storey. All windows are 2-light casements with a single vertical bar in the lights and segmental-arched heads to their surrounds and frames. The end doors have segmental-arched brick surrounds, with No. 21 featuring six raised fielded panels and No. 22 being half-glazed. To the south of No. 22, there is an additional section of the range that includes a single 2-light casement window on the upper storey and a wide segmental-arched opening on the ground storey, which was originally for a coach-house but is now infilled with double garage doors. The interior has not been inspected.
