Description
No 1 Mill Street is a mid-19th century surgery building that stands two storeys tall and features three windows. The walls are made of red brick, and the roof is hipped and slated, with rear chimneys constructed from gault brick. The building has sash windows with painted stone surrounds; the upper floor sashes include side-lights, while the ground floor windows have been replaced in the 20th century with fixed glazing. The entrance is recessed and has a segmental-arched stone-framed opening, with a broad segmental fanlight that has radial glazing bars and is flanked by Tuscan columns.
