Description

Nos 7 and 7A on Mill Street is a shop with a dwelling above and to the rear, dating from the 17th century with 19th-century alterations. The building has a two-cell lobby-entrance plan and stands two storeys high with two windows. It features a timber frame encased in 19th-century red brick. The roof is a slated clasped-purlin type with an axial chimney made of gault brick. There are a pair of 19th-century flat-roofed, one-storey splayed bay windows, and sash windows on the first floor. The entrance door is a 20th-century panelled type. Inside, there is a massive central chimney with blocked back-to-back fireplaces. A rear wing was added in the 19th century.
