Description
42 and 43 Well Street are a pair of semi-detached houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of white brick and feature a slate roof with plain projecting eaves. The buildings stand three storeys high with basements and have a two-window range. The ground and first storeys have 16-pane sash windows, while the top storey has 8-pane sash windows, all set in flush cased frames with flat gauged arches and projecting sills. Each house has two six-panelled doors that are accessed by steps, with the top two panels of each door glazed. The doors have rectangular fanlights, with No. 42 featuring intersecting glazing-bars. The doorcases include plain reveals, panelled architraves, and cornices. The basement windows have segmental-arched heads and are positioned at pavement level below the ground-storey windows. The interior has not been inspected.
