Description
No. 80 Whiting Street is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a timber frame with a roughcast exterior and a slate roof that has a modillion eaves cornice. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range, with 12-pane sash windows set in flush cased frames on the first and second storeys. The entrance includes a 20th-century half-glazed door framed by a moulded architrave and a cornice supported by console brackets. The ground storey window has been replaced by a 20th-century garage entrance with double doors. Inside, there is evidence of a former well in the cellar, which has rubble walls made of brick and stone, covered with old render. There is little evidence of earlier work within the interior, and the house does not have a rear entrance.
