Description
Nos. 11 and 12 on Whiting Street in Bury St Edmunds are 18th-century houses that have been divided into two, with No. 11 currently functioning as a shop. The buildings are timber-framed and have roughcast rendering, topped with 20th-century tiled roofs. They stand two storeys tall, with a cellar and an attic. The façade features a two-window range with 12-pane sashes set in flush cased frames. Notably, the lower sash of the ground floor window of No. 11, which serves as the shop window, lacks glazing bars. There are two doorways, each adorned with moulded architraves and cornices; No. 11 has a fully glazed door, while No. 12 features a four-panel door. The cellar is inaccessible, and no earlier features are visible inside, with the attic being rendered.
