Description
The Cottage at Dog Kennel Yard is a house that was formerly a pair of estate cottages, built in the early 19th century in the Gothick style. It stands two storeys tall, with one window on each side and a pair of gables facing Cotton End Road. The structure is made of gault brick, accented with red brick dressings. It features two gabled roofs that are slated, with open eaves and fretted undulating bargeboards topped with drop finials. A central group of four octagonal chimneys made of red brick sits on a square base. The windows are of two and three lights, with hood-moulds that continue as a string course at the first floor level. The windows have splayed reveals and wrought iron small-pane casements. The entrance door is framed, has an arched head, and is decorated with applied battens.
