Description
Church Cottage East and Church Cottage West are a pair of Gothick houses built around 1830. They are rendered, likely on brick, and feature gabled roofs covered with grey slate. Each house has two storeys and three windows, with a slightly projecting central gable. A continuous verandah is supported by seven cast iron openwork supports. The Tudor-arched doorways have had their original doors replaced. The wooden Gothick casements consist of three lights for the parlours and two lights for the other rooms, with all openings featuring labels. The houses have three diminishing chimneys with diagonal flues and ornate open-work bargeboards. Inside, there are dogleg open-string stairs with stick balusters and mahogany handrails that have curtails.
