Description
Bellhouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, built around 1840. It features brown brick in Flemish bond on the front and has graded grey slate roofs. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical front. The porch has a swept-out roof supported by curved rafters and ornate cast-iron supports. There are projecting gables at each end of the front, and a gabled dormer is positioned above the porch. The windows are small-pane casements with margin panes, consisting of three lights with transoms on the lower storey and two lights on the upper storey. The door has four raised and fielded panels and includes side-lights. There are two lateral chimneys on the right and one on the left. A late 20th-century extension at the rear is not visible from the front.
Inside, the farmhouse features panelled window embrasures with internal shutters. In the right parlour, there are two sawn chamfered oak beams, likely from the early 18th century, while the other rooms have moulded plaster cornices that match the exterior style.
