Description

This barn, located immediately to the east of Stanton Road Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is covered in weatherboarding, topped with a pantiled roof. The barn features a full-height porch on its west side and has a frame consisting of five bays, with full-height studs that are bisected by primary braces. The trusses include arched braces supporting the tie-beams. The roof is divided into ten bays, with two bays corresponding to one wall-bay, and it has two rows of stepped butt-purlins along with a ridge-piece. The two bays at the south end have been modified to include a later upper storey. This barn is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
