Description
The building is a former tithe barn associated with the rectory, now known as Barningham House. It dates from the 18th century, with some early 19th-century extensions and alterations. The structure is timber-framed, with parts encased and extended in flint and red brick, and features an inner layer of clunch blocks along the west wall and both gable walls. There are two large projecting porches and an added lean-to on the east side. The roofs are pantiled, with a half-hipped design over the main range and fully hipped roofs over the porches. The west wall includes a row of diamond-shaped ventilation holes made of red brick. The frame consists of five bays, with trusses that include some reused timbers. The roof has twelve bays, featuring small principal rafters, two rows of stepped butt purlins, and a ridge-piece.
