Description

Holm Cottage is a 17th-century cottage featuring one storey and attics, designed with a two-cell plan and a lobby entrance. The structure is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof. It has an internal chimney stack with a plain red brick shaft. On either side of the central plank door, there is a two-light small-paned casement window. The ceilings on the ground floor are exposed, showcasing plain joists set flat and heavy main beams. Although much of the framing is covered, side purlins can be seen protruding from the gable ends. There is a stair located in the corner of the room to the east of the stack. Additionally, there is a small brick lean-to with a pantiled roof on the west end and a single-storey lean-to along the rear wall.
