Description

This barn, located 50 meters south-west of Shelland Hall, is likely from the 17th century and consists of about six bays. It is timber-framed and mostly covered in plaster, with a roof that is currently sheeted in corrugated asbestos but was once thatched. On the south side, there is a gabled porch that is partly weatherboarded, featuring a pair of boarded barn doors. The north wall has a larger pair of boarded doors opposite the porch. There is external evidence of a clasped-purlin roof. The east gable has been modified in the 20th century to include a large steel door. The interior has not been examined, but the barn is included for its group value.
