Description
This barn, located about 20 yards north-east of Parsons Hall Farm, dates from the 17th century and has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure built on a rubble base, with weatherboarding and corrugated iron cladding, topped by a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of six framed bays that are aligned roughly east to west. In the third bay from the east end, there is a wagon bay with opposing cart entries and double doors.
On the north elevation, in addition to the double doors, there is a ledged and battened door and two loft openings, one of which is located beneath a raking-top dormer. The interior has only been partly inspected. The framing includes three panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, with collar and tie-beam trusses that feature struts throughout. This barn is included for its group value.
