Description

This barn, located about 20 yards east of Lane Farmhouse, is likely from the 17th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, resting on a rubble base, with some areas covered in corrugated metal cladding and topped with a corrugated metal roof. The structure consists of five framed bays arranged in a north/south direction, featuring a central wagon bay that has opposed cart entries and 20th-century metal doors. At the gable ends, three tiers of purlins are visible. An interior inspection was not possible at the time of the survey in July 1986. The barn is included for its group value.
