Description
This is a house located at 69 Ipswich Street in Stowmarket, dating from the 18th century. It features a timber frame that was re-faced in the early 19th century with stone panels and is colourwashed. The roof is covered with black-glazed pantiles and the building stands two storeys high with two bays.
The entrance consists of a recessed central door with six panels, set behind a timber doorcase that has fluted pilasters rising to a flat hood supported by brackets. There are 20th-century sash windows on both sides of the door, which do not have glazing bars, as well as two similar sash windows on the first floor. The eaves cornice is decorated with paired modillions on the soffit, and the gabled roof has two stacks located on the rear slope.
