Description

Mere Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century and was remodelled in the 18th century. It features a rendered timber frame and a glazed black pantile roof. The building has a three-cell plan with a range at the rear. The facade consists of three bays and is two storeys high, with a rendered plinth. It has 16-pane sash windows and a central door that has six panels and a peacock's tail fanlight. The doorcase is adorned with pilasters, which have dentil capitals, and is topped with an open pediment. There are three sashes on the first floor, with the central window having 12 panes. A central gault brick stack is present on the roof.
