Description

The Duke's Head Inn is a public house dating from the late 18th century. It features a roughcast and colourwashed timber frame set on a brick plinth, topped with a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and a three-window front. The west front includes three 8/8 sash windows, with an early 20th-century half-glazed door situated between the right-hand pair. The first floor has three 4/4 sash windows of 18th-century origin and an additional 2/2 sash window above the door. The roof is gabled, with an external stack on the north gable end and a ridge stack located south of the center. The south gable has a 20th-century semi-circular one-storey extension beneath a pyramid roof. Inside, the ridge stack remains intact, and the boxed bridging beams have been cut off and are supported on steel piers, indicating the position of removed walls on the ground floor.
