Description
Topcroft Lodge is a house dating from the 17th century and the late 18th to early 19th century. It features a brick and rendered timber frame construction with glazed black pantile hipped roofs. The front facade has three bays and is two storeys high, with sash windows that include glazing bars. The central entrance has a doorcase adorned with fluted pilasters and a frieze, topped by a plain cornice. The main door consists of six elaborately moulded panels with panelled reveals. On the first floor, there are three sash windows. At the rear, there is a four-bay timber-framed wing that has 20th-century leaded casements and a brick plinth. The house has two axial stacks. Inside, the west wall of the rear range reveals close studding, and a jowled post supports a transverse beam that has a heavy chamfer.
