Description
No. 50, known as R and G Webster, is a house and shop located on Debenham High Street, dating from around 1800, with some earlier work incorporated to the south. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a roof of glazed black pantiles. It stands two storeys high and features five windows, primarily 4 and 6-paned sashes. The house has a lobby entrance with an architrave that has reeded jambs and a six-panel door, of which the upper two panels are glazed. To the right of the entrance, there are two flush 8-paned shop windows and a mid-20th century glazed door situated between them. There are boarded garage doors at the extreme right. The building has an internal stack, although the exceptionally tall shaft was blown down in October 1987. The interior has not been examined. This building is included for its group value.
