Description
No. 3 and 4, known as Janet, is a former house that now serves as a house and shop. It dates from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond of three, featuring stucco dressings and a hipped concrete pantile roof, along with two brick wall stacks.
It stands two storeys high with an irregular four-bay front. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door with a plain fanlight, panelled reveals, and a wooden pilastered doorcase topped with an open dentillated pediment. To the left of the entrance is a single plain sash window, while to the right is a 20th-century shop window and a half-glazed door. On the first floor, there are four plain sash windows, one of which has a semi-circular head. All original windows are adorned with rusticated stucco lintels featuring keyblocks. This building is included in the register for its group value only.
