Description

The Market Cross in Tattershall is a 15th-century structure made of ashlar stone. It features an octagonal shape and is accessed by five steps leading up to a square base. The cross rises with stop-chamfered edges to a tapering octagonal shaft. At the top, it supports a corbel frieze decorated with figures of wild men holding shields, along with a frieze of paired trefoils. The structure culminates in a cross fleury. It is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument No. 92.
