Description
Lodge House is a house from the early 18th century that has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring ashlar dressings, a deep stone plinth, and a 19th-century slate roof with two brick gable stacks. The building is two stories tall with a six-bay front, which includes rusticated quoins and an ashlar band at the first floor. The central entrance has half-glazed doors with a plain overlight, flanked by three glazing bar sash windows on the left and two on the right, all topped with brick segmental heads. On the first floor, there are six 20th-century two-light glazing bar casements set into the eaves. Notably, the roof ridge is adorned with a ceramic 14th-century louvre shaped like a gabled house, referred to as "Tom Thumb's House."
