Description
Originally a single house, now comprising two properties, this building dates to the 16th century. It is timber-framed and now plastered, with a façade lined to resemble ashlar. The roof is pantiled. The house is two storeys high. A continuous jetty projects to the street, supported by original brackets, and displays exposed joist-ends. There are three windows, which are 18th–19th century casement windows, each with a single horizontal glazing bar. Two 4-panel doors provide access, each reached by a short flight of steps. An internal stack has a 19th-century brick shaft. A small, colourwashed brick addition dating to the 19th century is located on the left and forms part of number 42. The interior has not been inspected, but it is reported that much of the timber structure is concealed.
