Description

This barn, located about 40 meters north of Elm Tree Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of red brick with a steeply pitched plain tiled roof. The barn features seven bays and has a central gabled midstrey that includes a boarded door facing the farmhouse and opposing double doors. On the front left, there is another boarded door, while the right side has a low projecting former barley kiln topped with a hipped roof. A slate-roofed lean-to connects the midstrey and the kiln. The gable end parapets have kneelers and tumbled-in brickwork. Inside, there are knees to the tie beams and a butt purlin roof with collars to the principal rafters.
