Description
The Laurels is a house that was later divided into three dwellings. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and was extended in the early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame, likely extended with clay lump and plastered. It has a thatched roof with a shallower pitch on the red pantiled extension. The structure consists of three cells, is one storey high with an attic, and has a one-bay section with a two-storey addition on the right.
The front includes a glazed door and four 20th-century two-light glazing bar casements with hoodboards, along with three two-light eyebrow thatched dormers. There is an internal stack on the left end with a rebuilt capping, and the left end displays exposed plates and purlins. The 19th-century bay on the right has an entrance towards the left, featuring a 20th-century door with a tiled hood and 16-pane glazing bar sashes. At the rear, there is a catslide roof over a one-storey and attic lean-to behind the 19th-century bay, with a stack on the rear slope. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
