Description

This is a barn located 60 meters east of Whittingham Hall, dating from the 16th century with later additions. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a pantiled roof. The original structure consists of six bays, with an additional bay from the 18th to 19th century at the north end. At the south end, there is an 18th-century addition that is positioned at right angles and contains four narrow bays. The main section features full-height studs and has cart entrances in bays two and five. The roof is constructed with butt and clasped purlins and includes arched wind-bracing.
