Description
Ivydene is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with small additions at each gable end. It is timber framed and plastered, with the rear wall covered in common brick from around 1920. The roof is pantiled and the building has two storeys with four windows, mostly 18th century casements, including some with square-leaded panes on the first floor. The entrance features a lobby with a six-panel raised and fielded door and an open timber porch topped with a semi-circular roof. Above the porch is a small circular window. Inside, much of the structure is said to be concealed, and there is a newel staircase. The right-hand room is currently used as a workshop, where the floor has been removed and the roof has been renewed.
