Description
Yewtree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It has a timber-framed core that is encased in mid-19th century red brick, and the roof is covered with glazed black pantiles. The building has two storeys and an attic, following a two-cell lobby entry type layout. There are three windows featuring 18th century mullion and transom casements with large panes and flat brick arches. A mid-19th century gabled brick porch with shaped bargeboards and a spike finial leads to a mid-20th century door. An internal stack is present. The rear slope of the roof has been raised to accommodate a later lean-to, but the original roof remains intact. Internally, much of the structure is concealed, but some ovolo-moulded bridging beams and newel stairs can be found, along with a wind-braced roof featuring clasped and diminished butt purlins.
