Description
Barbers Farmhouse, originally known as Wilkinson's Farmhouse, is a 16th-century farmhouse that has more recently been used as two cottages. It features a timber frame with plastering, and the facade is designed to imitate ashlar. The roof is covered with plain tiles at the front and pantiles at the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a three-cell form. There is a range of three windows, all of which were boarded over at the time of the survey, along with two boarded entrance doors. A single gabled dormer is present. The internal stack, which used to have four detached circular shafts, was rebuilt in a plain style in the mid-20th century. An 18th-century external stack is located at the service end, with its lower part incorporated into a small brick addition against the gable end. The interior was not inspected.
