Description

This barn, located 25 metres north of Metfieldlane Farmhouse, dates back to the early 17th century. It is constructed from timber framing and is weatherboarded, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of three bays, with the former central cart entrance now blocked. The timber frame remains largely intact, featuring full-height studs and arched bracing at the corners and each main post. The east bay was originally floored over and used as stables, and it includes a small window with diamond mullions in the north wall. The roof is also intact, showcasing butt and clasped purlins along with arched wind-bracing between the rafters.
