Description

This barn, located about 40 metres north of Filmers Farmhouse, dates from the early 17th century and has some alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The structure consists of three timber-framed bays and features a stone plinth. The roof is hipped with gablets, and there are central double doors. Inside, the barn includes gunstock-jowled principal posts, arch-braced tie-beams, and a clasped purlin roof with diminishing principal rafters and windbraces. There are midrails and some original studding and wall-bracing still visible.
