Description
Filmers Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with later alterations. It is timber-framed, with a ground floor to the main range constructed of red brick. The ground floor of the wing is built of red and grey brick in Flemish bond, with exposed post and midrail. The first floor is weatherboarded. The farmhouse consists of a main range with a central wing projecting forward. It has two storeys and a garret. The roof has gables with plain bargeboards. A central multiple brick ridge stack rises from the main range, and the fenestration is irregular. A two-light casement window is positioned to the left of the main range, against the junction with the wing. The long left side of the wing features two casement windows: one single-light and one three-light. A boarded door is located towards the left end of the main range. A blocked door is present towards the centre of the left side of the wing. The right side of the wing has a central first-floor loading door with a ground-floor door beneath. A stone lean-to is situated at the front gable end of the wing, incorporating a midrail and a weatherboarded gable. A stone rear lean-to extends from the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
