Description
Pond Cottage is a house, which has been divided into three dwellings, dating from the mid to late 17th century and altered in the 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and has a plastered exterior, topped with a thatched roof. The building originally featured a plan with three cells and possibly a cross passage. It has one storey and an attic, with the entrance located at the far left and a blocked entrance to the right of centre. The windows are two-light glazing bar casements, each with timber hood moulds. There are four dormers, each with two-light glazing bars and finialed, bargeboarded gables. An axial ridge stack, located to the left of centre, has multiple diagonally set shafts and has been rebuilt. The right gable end has an external stack that is rendered, with offsets leading to a rebuilt cap, and displays exposed plates and purlins along with bargeboards. At the rear, there is a continuous lean-to addition with a pantiled roof. The interior has not been inspected.
