Description
Thatched Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension and 20th-century alterations. It has a timber frame that is plastered and features a thatched roof. The original layout was likely two cells with a lobby entrance, which has been extended by one bay. The cottage is one storey with an attic. The entrance is through a 20th-century porch into the added bay on the left, with a 20th-century two-light metal frame casement window to the right and three two-light gabled dormers. There is originally a central ridge stack, while the right gable end has a rendered external stack, with exposed plates and purlins. The left end has a 20th-century flat-roofed addition. At the rear, there is a boarded door at the original center and a blocked casement window to the left. The interior features a concealed frame and a stop-chamfered cross axial binding beam, although the first floor has not been inspected.
