Description
Red Roofs is a house that was later divided into three dwellings. It dates from the mid to late 17th century and underwent alterations in the 20th century. The building has a timber frame that is plastered, with a steeply pitched roof covered in corrugated sheets over thatch. It consists of seven bays and three cells, and it likely originally had a cross passage plan. The house is one storey high with an attic.
To the left of the center, there is a 20th-century lobby entrance and 20th-century casement windows, along with a 19th-century two-light dormer. There is a rebuilt axial ridge stack to the left of center and an added internal stack at the right end. The right gable end features exposed purlins and bargeboards. At the rear, there is an oven outshut behind the stack and a dormer. Inside, the frame is concealed, and there are cambered cellars with clasp purlins.
