Description
The entrance gates located 300 meters west-northwest of Oaksmere date from the 18th century and were partly rebuilt in the mid-20th century. They feature tall square red brick piers with chamfered rustication, moulded bases, and corbelled and moulded caps topped with stone spheres. The gates themselves are well-crafted paired wrought iron with a decorative canopy of scrollwork above. There are screen walls designed in a matching style, complete with copings supported by a corbel cornice, and wrought iron railings above. The terminal piers are smaller versions of the main piers.
